Unique Venues of London is delighted to welcome back the Museum of London Docklands to its amazing collection of over 70 venues. Within the museum it has a wonderful selection of spaces to choose from to host an event, with one being Sailortown - an immersive display that recreates the atmosphere of London’s Sailortown, a ramshackle London district centred around Wapping, Shadwell and Ratcliffe.
The winding streets of Sailortown were packed with everything a ship and its crew needed – from rope-makers and ship chandlers to lodging houses and a tavern. This full-size reconstruction of Sailortown evokes the sights, sounds and smells of Victorian London with the twisting passages unveiling many secrets and surprises!
If you’re looking for a setting for a drinks reception that will to really wow your guests and bring history to life, Sailortown is the perfect choice. Guests can enjoy an atmospheric stroll through the mysterious and evocative alleyways, winding through the narrow streets and peering through the windows of a wild animal emporium which is filled with exotic souvenirs and creatures from sailors arriving from across the world, a curiosity shop, ship chandlers and more.
They can even stop for a drink or two in the local tavern! There is also an option to add actors to set the scene and mingle with guests to complete the illusion and really bring the event experience to life.
